Royals Close Strong in 83–75 Win at Truett McConnell
The Royals put together an impressive second-half performance Monday night, outscoring Truett McConnell 43–33 after the break to earn an 83–75 road victory at Benjamin F. Brady Arena.
After trailing 42–40 at halftime, the Royals came out with renewed energy on both ends of the floor. The Royals shot nearly 50 percent from the field for the game and knocked down nine three-pointers, using efficient offense and timely stops to pull away late.
Davon Cottle led all scorers with 23 points, connecting on five three-pointers to pace the Royals' attack. Livingston Cross followed with 21 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while Jahmar Brown added 13 points and seven rebounds. Ja'Kobe Strozier chipped in 12 points and four assists, and Mason Lockhart rounded out the balanced scoring with nine points and five boards.
The Royals held Truett McConnell to just 23.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc and forced 11 turnovers, capitalizing on key defensive possessions down the stretch to seal the win.
With the victory, the Royals improve to 10–11 overall and 9–4 in conference play.
