Royals Golf Closes Strong Fall Season, Eyes Growth Ahead
The Johnson University men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with strong performances across multiple tournaments, setting the tone for an exciting spring ahead. Competing against some of the top programs in the country, the Royals showcased their depth, resilience, and potential throughout the semester.
Head Coach Jace Devault reflected on the team's progress and the foundation built over the past few months.
"Overall, we had a good start to the 25–26 campaign. We showed we are more than capable of competing with the best teams in the country," said Devault. "We have a very young team, and to have that kind of youth thrown right into the mix early, they handled it very well. Everyone that had the chance to play for us contributed to the overall success of the fall season."
The Royals' lineup featured several newcomers who quickly adjusted to the college level, gaining valuable tournament experience along the way. Their early-season consistency and composure laid the groundwork for continued improvement as the year progresses.
"I expect come spring for the guys to have settled in a little bit more and to come out with high expectations," Devault added. "We have a challenging spring schedule ahead and I believe this team will be ready. We want to play the best teams in the country, and with the team we have, I have full confidence in them to go compete at a high level. We will use this offseason to get stronger in the weight room and get ourselves ready for spring season. I couldn't be more proud of them this fall, and I look forward to going to battle with them this spring!"
With momentum on their side, the Royals will turn their focus to offseason training and preparation as they gear up for a demanding spring schedule—one that promises both opportunity and competition at the highest level.
