The Lady Royals delivered a strong all-around performance on Saturday afternoon, earning a 72–61 victory over Columbia (SC) inside Douglas E. Karnes Arena. The win moves Johnson to 3–4 overall and 2–1 in AAC play.
Madison Brady powered Johnson off the bench with 22 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 7-of-15 from the floor and 7-of-8 at the line. Jordan Heifner added 15 points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Megan Biliter anchored the post with a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double.
Emery Tollett contributed seven points and seven boards, and Gibson Boykin added eight points. Johnson controlled the interior throughout the afternoon, outrebounding Columbia 58–48 and knocking down 23-of-28 free throws.
After the game, head coach Bryon Lawhon praised his team's toughness, saying, "Hard fought win. We stayed tough against a gritty team. These are the games we need to win so we can learn how to win against tougher teams."
Columbia was paced by Anaya Muhammad with 19 points and Makiah Thompson with 16.
The Lady Royals return to action on November 25, traveling to Tennessee Wesleyan for another AAC matchup.
