The Lady Royals delivered a strong road performance Wednesday night, taking down Bluefield (VA) 68–53 behind a balanced offensive attack and dominant rebounding effort.
After a tight first quarter, Johnson found its rhythm in the second, outscoring the Rams 24–15 to take control of the game. From there, the Royals kept steady pressure on both ends of the court, winning each of the final two periods to secure the double-digit victory.
Jordan Heifner led the way with 21 points, knocking down five threes and adding four steals. Emery Tollett posted a standout double-double, finishing with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds while also dishing out five assists. Megan Biliter added 10 points and six rebounds, and Kelsey Holt provided a spark off the bench with 13 points on 3-of-9 shooting from deep.
Johnson won the rebounding battle 43–51 and held Bluefield to just 2-of-19 shooting from beyond the arc. Gabriela Rosado paced the Rams with 20 points and 17 rebounds, but the Royals' defensive pressure forced 19 turnovers that proved too much for Bluefield to overcome.
With the win, Johnson improves to 4–7 overall and 2–4 in AAC play.
The Lady Royals return home on December 13 to host Union Commonwealth.
