The Lady Royals showed an early fight but couldn't keep pace down the stretch, falling 78–62 to Bryan on Wednesday evening inside Douglas E. Karnes Arena.
Johnson opened the night with energy, leading Bryan 18–17 after the first quarter behind balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure. Bryan answered in the second, outscoring the Lady Royals 20–13 to take a six-point lead into halftime. The visitors maintained control in the third before pulling away with a 24-point fourth quarter to secure the road win.
Emery Tollett led the Lady Royals with a team-high 17 points and 10 rebounds, finishing with a double-double and going a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Hailey Brooks added 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including three three-pointers, while Olivia Bolduc chipped in 14 points and four assists.
Bryan shot 42.6 percent from the field and held a rebounding lead, while Alyssa Petty paced all scorers with 23 points for the visitors.
The Lady Royals will look to bounce back and protect their home floor on Saturday, Feb. 7, as they host Truett McConnell.
