Royals Fall Just Short in Tight Contest Against Spartanburg Methodist

In an intense face-off, the Lady Royals Soccer Team faced a tough clash against Spartanburg Methodist at the Nash Soccer Field in Spartanburg, SC. The Royals battled until the final whistle, but ultimately fell in a tight matchup. 

The encounter began challenging for the Royals, trailing with a halftime score of 0-1. The Royals' standout player, Annabel Reiche, turned the tables in the second half by scoring two goals to bring a momentary lead to Johnson. However, the celebration was short-lived as Spartanburg's Camila Moscoso netted the winning goal in the closing moments, securing the victory for her team.

Johnson's performance was strengthened by significant contributions from several players. Goalie Kaitlyn Pope made an impressive six saves throughout the game, showcasing her skills despite the tough outcome. Additionally, Allie Townsend assisted on Reiche's second goal, adding strategic depth to the Royals' gameplay.
