Mason Graves enters his second season as the Royals’ hitting and infield coach. In his first year, Johnson’s offense posted a .312/.412/.453 slash line and led the conference with 160 stolen bases. His work contributed to First Team All-Conference honors for Luke Wilson and Travis Hobbensiefken, while the Royals’ .963 fielding percentage ranked second in the league. Two of his infielders, Braden Frank and Brayden Taylor, earned Gold Gloves.

Graves joined Johnson after two seasons as a graduate assistant at Division II Lincoln Memorial University, where he oversaw outfield play, baserunning, and assisted with hitters. During his time there, LMU recorded back-to-back 30-win seasons, surpassed 100 stolen bases, held a fielding percentage above .970, and set program records in doubles and home runs. Five hitters earned all-conference honors under his guidance, including the conference and region player of the year.
