Royals' Season Ends At Nationals
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Johnson Royals Men's Soccer team had their 2020 season come to an end Wednesday, November 18th in the NCCAA DII National Tournament. The Royals struggled to get going in their two pool play matches. They suffered a competitve 2-0 loss to the Randall Saints in their first match and experienced a 5-0 setback against the Bob Jones University Bruins to eliminate them from the tournament. For his performance, Guillerme Catena received All-Tournament Team recognition.
While the national tournament did not go as planned for the Royals, they experienced plenty of success in the 2020 season. The Royals finished second in the Mideast Region and received their first at-large bid to the national tournament in many years. Head Coach Spenser Proctor only loses three seniors from this squad and expects continued success from the Royals moving into the 2021 season.
